Mrs D
Some lighting problems. I like the opening few shots and pace. It becomes a bit repetitive in terms of the structure especially the Titles going to black every so often. By having your titles at the end it it reads a little bit like a trailer. Could you start a flashback section to end your 2 mins? 3 weeks later etc?

Lesson update
We are working on an Ident for our distribution company 'Pinnacle Entertainment'. We are using the programme 'Motion 4' on Apple Macs and have watched tutorial videos on YouTube to help us get a basic understanding of how this works as we were both unfamiliar with the programme. We will be reshooting this week and are still debating on the use of a new song.
My Comments on Mrs D Feedback for rough cut
In the class feed back they said they liked the music, however I now realise that the song overpowers the shots we have used and this draws away from the content of the scene and makes you focus more on the music. I will include a ident at the beginning of the rough cut and when the credits come up on the screen I will use a different shot behind the writing, e.g. a black background

Prop permission!
We have been given clearance from our teacher Miss Dolby to use a fake plastic gun that will sit in a case and be taken out and held in a mans hand during filming. We will be recording in my house so no members of the general public will see it and/or look suspicious. Due to the fact that we wanted to use this prop we discussed the context of which it was being used and have been granted permission.
Possible list of songs for film opening
- Kyoto (feat sira) - Skrillex
- City of Crime - Jewelbeat.com
- 12 - The 1975
- The funeral - Band of Horses
- Savant - Red Claw
- Grounds For Divorce - Elbow
Plot outline
Unfortunatelty we have had problems with acquiring out actor but have finally arranged to do some filming on monday the 3rd of March. We have been doing extensive planning in these few days of absence where we are unable to film -
1. We have chosen a variety of shots we want to film.
We have a second idea in which instead of the scene starting with a man in the office, we will start with a car pulling into the drive and him opening the door and going straight down to the cellar instead.
2. We have also decided that we may like to use a music track underneath the footage. We are yet to decide which track we would like to use, however we will update you as soon as we know.
1. We have chosen a variety of shots we want to film.
- Will start with a mid shot of a man sitting at his desk in his office in which character looks out of window.
- Cuts to close up of hand in which he arranges pencils on a desk so they are straight.
- goes to extreme close up which man takes off his glasses
- cuts to him cleaning his glasses with a wipe and puts them back on
- cuts to a reverse angle mid shot in which the man leaves his chair and starts walking out of the room and the camera slightly pans to the lef up the hallway.
- cuts to a medium long shot where the camera is tilted. of man down the hallway walking closer and closer to the camera. (shot also shows ladder on the floor down to cellar in bottom of shot)
- cuts to the bottom of the ladder and films him climbing down it.
- close up of light switch where man flicks the light.
- Cuts to man taking off glasses from the side using extreme close up
- Cuts to his hands cleaning and wiping glasses again
- Cuts to putting glasses down on table
- Shot of the room with loads of certificates on the wall and a clock is in the shot, the man looks up at the clock
- Cuts to the clock and you hear it ticking in which it is slowed down and makes it more intense
- You see the man wipe his face/forehead
- reverse angle from other wall of the room and man walks over to a case and picks it up
- cuts to man picking up the case and turning around
- cuts to the man putting the case down and opening it in which you see a folder with the word retribution on it and a gun in there
- Cuts to the actual case and you see the hands pick up the gun and start moving it around and you hear some fragments of conversation in the mans head
- Close up of his face and intense heavy breathing
- Voiceover in his head stops and you see him continuously cleaning the gun. Shot from the camera sitting on the table which the case is on.
